July 26th, 2007 Mauled By Tigers comp. now available!!

Yes, the Mauled By Tigers compilation is now available and the first 100 are on pink vinyl. This 12" record features 22 tracks from the best DIY punk, hardcore, and lo-fi bands from around the country. It's basically a party record. It's 12 bucks postage paid but will be chearper at shows. Thanks to the MBT kids for putting this together as well as the awesome fest last weekend. The CD is also available through www.mauledbytigers.com In other less recent news, the shopping tour last month was not as desperate as it may have initially seemed. We met a lot of cool people and had a general blast throughout. We plan on hitting up some of the same places in December, but this time with our new drummer, Gib.

Quite simply, this is about supporting DIY culture and local underground music.
I hope you enjoy the records and tapes to come. This is an experiment in turning our hobbies and creative energy into something more meaningful than passive consumption, gossip, and general cultural waste. This project has been a year or more coming. It's always been difficult for me to justify starting a record label when faced with the sheer amount of such labels everywhere. But either my selfishness got the best of me, or I decided that the magnitude of labels supporting independent music is actually a fantastic thing benefiting everyone, regardless of anyone's investment in DIY culture. I want to help put out records that are interesting, meaningful, and that may not have otherwise been made.
